  • Favorite Pilsner Malt

So what is it? Briess, Great Western, Canada Malting, Gambrinus, Best, Bairds, or Franco-Belges? Why?

    Thanks

I have had great results with Weyermann.

      pils malt

Have to second the Weyermann. We produce a pilsner year round and several other lagers throughout the year. Weyermann has given us a very consistent and authentic flavor profile.

Rahr Premium Pilsen Malt works wonderfully for me across a range of German-ish and Belgian-style brews among others.

I've tried many different ones. Supply issues forced me away from Weyermann, but I'm back, despite it being a lot of work to get it. It's definitely the best I've tried.

Agreed. Weyerman is excellent. Great flavor and it's highly modified allowing you to get that extra dry finish.

Looking tword expansion and cost savings id like to get bulk malt. BSG has Rahr Premium Pilsner or Rahr Old World Pilsner out of denver. Id be switching from Weyermann- which I like alot. Comments on these two? comparison/contrast?
I plan on doing a side by side sometime soon with all 3. ill post results.

I have done a Maybock with Weyermann malts and a second batch with Schill (formerly Global). The Schill had a slightly higher S.G. but also finished a tad higher. Schill barley had a slightly sweeter flavor before mashing in. I get them both from BSG.
