  • Looking for boiler recomendations

We're a brewery in planning in the Austin, TX area and I'm looking for some education/recommendations for boilers for our brewhouse. We will be working with a 4 vessel 30 bbl steam heated system. What should I be looking for in a boiler? Also the manufacturer of our brewhouse said that it works best if I purhcase the boiler locally and have them install it. Any recommendations on a manufacturer? Thanks for the help!

    For the love of beer,

    Kevin

The manufacturer should be the one providing the recommendation. They may be deferring so your installer/supplier advises something they're familiar with. I'm looking at several 30 bbl 4 vessels myself. The Colombia MPH-50 is consistently recommended. I have brochures/indo I can email if you provide an address.
    Cheers!

For that size system I would go with a Modulating Fire Scotch Marine style boiler.
You can get one made local by Williams and Davis Boilers. They are Rock solid.
I ran many of them for Texas A&M.

One other local company that used to be very good for install and repairs is Tigert Boilers.

Holeman Boiler works would be my second choice.

If you need a low pressure boiler, Rite Boiler. High Pressure, Parker. San Jose Boiler was our supplier and offer great customer service. Our brewhouse is high pressure with pressure reduction so if your steam jackets can handle the extra psi I would highly recommend more psi than the 15 psi unit.
