Hi all
Long time lurker, new poster here, so if this is the wrong place for this, please tell me!
I'm a long time home brewer, soon to be small scale pro-brewer (hopefully!), and have noticed a gap in process control systems - there's very little between a simple setup with a few STC-1000s and industrial scale stuff like Siemens BrauMat. My past life was in embedded systems, and so I've been running (at a 1BBL scale) a homebuilt system for the last year or so. My question is - if I were to take this commercial (Kickstarter), would this be of any interest to small-scale electric brewers out there?
The system I'm running has the following specs:
Temp sensing and control for HLT, MLT and fermenters (heating and cooling), up to 6 kW or so.
Flow meter on HLT output.
Full HMI, web-based for use on laptop and additional HMI optimised for smartphone, option for 7" touchscreen.
Talks Modbus for connection with existing HMI or PLCs.
Integration with recipe/brewsheet spreadsheet and recipe manager.
Plug and play - mount sensors (thermowells) and SSRs, and plug together with bog-standard RJ45 ethernet cables.
IO for other sensors and SSRs, for mixers, extractor fans, etc.
Any interest, suggestions or comments?
