  • What kind of differential Pressure Sensors should I use?

    Hi,

I would like to automate my lauter tun raking by adding pressure sensors in the lauter tun. I have been looking around on the web to find specs on what type I should use, unfortunately I couldn't find anything.

How do you monitor the pressure in your grain bed? Do you use two pressure sensors or a special differential one? What are the specs needed for an 20 hl system? How accurate should the sensors be?

What is according to you the cheapest solution for electrical monitoring?

I know these are a lot of questions. Any help would be very appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Thijs

Do you have a manometer on your lauter tun? Our lauter has a manometer sight glass tube at a point a few inches above the lauter screens, and one for a point on the bottom below the screens. They are side-by-side and you can see the difference in levels as an indication of the pressure differential. I suppose it would be easy to put a pressure sensor at these locations as well.

I don't have a manometer on it. What is the reach of the manometer you have?

      Thanks,
