All plants, animals, and fungi are eukaryotes. The only non-eukaryotes are the true bacteria and archea, which are so weird they could plausibly represent a second, independent origin of life. </geek>

Your crashing regimen sounds fine to me. Unless they're actually freezing, cold temperatures should prolong yeast health.

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

      Russ,

I used to crash to 45, then to 40 and harvest. After harvesting I would flip the beer like you do, but my yeasts (koelsch and 34/70) would flocc just fine at 40.

@a10t2 - Yep, I stand corrected. Derp. (Liberal Arts major) Think I'll still call them little mammalians though.

Hmmm, maybe we'll start trying that then Kevin. We only started doing cell counts a little while back, so I don't have a long log of them yet. But tomorrow we're going cone to cone and I'll pull a sample and take a look at it after it's freshly flocc'd all on its own vs. being crashed.
