  • Super Short Draw Draft Tower Glycol Options?

    Hey guys,

I am building out a bar right now and want some opinions on how to chill our draft tower. The tower will be mounted directly next to the cold room on a wood cabinet fixture. The tap tower is insulated with foam and has copper tubing to install a cooling loop. There will only be about 4-5ft of beer line outside of the cold room, including the line in the tower itself. I feel like most of the commercially available units are going to be way overkill.

We have been dreaming up ideas like an aquarium style pump in a bucket of glycol. Sounds super ghetto and likely unreliable in the long run.

Any thoughts / ideas? Cost is not really a concern, but space kind of is.

How about a blower setup instead?

Thought about that too. The beer lines and copper glycol loop are already installed and spray foamed in though.

        pump and container

We bought a restaurant that has an aquarium pump in a small plastic food container of glycol to cool the tower. It works fine. It was a commercial kegerator they modded to cool an 8 tap tower, so it sits off on the side. They've had it running for at least a year or two.
