We currently have a large stock of custom printed bottle caps which have an oxygen absorbing feature. We've had them for around 2.5 years. It was my understanding that even though the oxygen absorbing action is activated by water, there is a shelf life concern for them to continue to be effective. We are moving away from bottle conditioning to filling finished beer, so I'm trying to take every precaution to protect the product. I also know that our distributor does not store bottle/can product cold which has me extra paranoid about how the beer will be handled once it's out of the brewery. Should we be considering taking a wash on our "old" caps?
