Having a bit of an issue recently with low boil off rates.
4BBL electric kettle with a chimney condenser.
Recently getting 3-4% boil off which is actually fine as no off tastes detected. Gives a vigorous boil which gets good hot break.
Just that it is less than before and reading a few threads about these chimneys got me thinking.
Would there be any chance of the cold water being sucked into the kettle?
I normally boil with the lid on but not screwed down. Tap set on the chimney to provide a reasonably slow but steady flow of cold water.
How do others find them?
Cheers
