  • Boil off condenser

Having a bit of an issue recently with low boil off rates.

4BBL electric kettle with a chimney condenser.
Recently getting 3-4% boil off which is actually fine as no off tastes detected. Gives a vigorous boil which gets good hot break.

Just that it is less than before and reading a few threads about these chimneys got me thinking.
Would there be any chance of the cold water being sucked into the kettle?

I normally boil with the lid on but not screwed down. Tap set on the chimney to provide a reasonably slow but steady flow of cold water.

    How do others find them?

    Cheers

Have nothing to add to this thread except that it is very odd to find someone with the same last name spelling as mine.

    Cheers!

      Ha ha :-)

The more you look the more of us you find!

I have found quite a few, think it seems it's a bit of a Scottish spelling of the name.

      Where are you based?
