Does anyone have experience fruiting a foeder? Our intention is to use it as a big barrel for fermentation (primary and secondary) with the goal of maximizing consistency of flavor. By doing this we are also hoping to minimize beer loss as we would transfer directly from foeder to tank when it comes time to crash and package the beer. From what I can dig up, this practice is not widely utilized in the industry; does anyone know why that is?
