  • Can I do mash and lautering at the same vessel

Hello to everyone, I ´ve been brewing for a couple of years and in spite of that, theres something that is not as clear as I ´d like, i want to know if is possible to work in the same vessel mashing and lautering, what are the pros and cons of brewing in this way, I really need your help with this so I hope you can give me a hand

Mash/Laurter tuns are pretty standard for small brewers.
    Pros:
    one vessel to clean
    lower start-up cost
    less space required
ease of operation for novice brewers

    Cons:
one vessel to work with, slows through-put
lauter must be complete and grains-out prior to second mash
may not be as efficient for step mash programs
    Cheers & I'm out!
