  • Transformation of sodium chlorite into chlorine dioxide by using citric acid?

    Hello good day,

Do you think i can use citric acid in order to transform the sodium chlorite into cholrine dioxide? i guess i can do it, the protocol of yeast harvesting says you can use food-grade acid to acidify the water to -ph3.

    Thanks!
    Arturo.

    Citric shouldn't be a problem, I've used food-grade lactic.

Mind if I ask what conditions you run your washing in? Do you have protective gear against the chlorine fumes?

Citric acid use is normal for reducing pH to activation range. Different companies have different usage instructions. You should consult your supplier to be sure how to use it properly. Birko has a completely different procedure than 5-Star, for example.
